When you notice UV/LED gel detachment at the free edge of your gel nail enhancements, it's easy to assume it's about product adhesion or the application technique. But the reason why your gel enhancement will lift at the nail tip is mainly due to the natural nail's flexibility and anatomical features.
Gel enhancement will peel away from the natural nail at the tip 99% of the time on damaged natural nails or longer nails. This is because natural nails are flexible, whereas artificial gel coatings are less so, flexing only to a limited extent.
The more flexible the natural nail is, undergoing changes as it absorbs and releases moisture, the quicker the gel coating will peel away. This peeling is especially pronounced when there is a larger surface area of the natural nail experiencing these changes i.e. on a longer nail.
The most reliable method is to strengthen the tip of the nail with a correct product and then ensure that the edge of the natural nail is not on par with the UV gel coating.
If you are working with short natural nails, then you can quickly add strength to the entire nail and the tip with our Nylon infused Fibre Base Coat. This is a multifunctional, low heat base that reinforces the nail plate and can be used to add shape and repair.
